On a personal note, perhaps not standard fare for an employment cover letter but important for you to realize, I have had a life. After leaving the corporate world, I went into my own entrepreneurial business for quite a few years. I have had my "ups and downs", as anyone else in small business. With the onset of the current recession, I chose to give it up and return to the security of a corporate position knowing that there are no employment guarantees anymore.

I left NY in 2007, sidetracked to Florida for two years, and made the decision to come to Northern California to be closer to my sister. I have a brother in Atlanta. My parents are deceased and we three, as a family, remain behind. My parents were immigrants from Europe and they instilled us with the importance of education, common sense and other positive qualities including responsibility and the importance of taking onus for one's life. As for me, I am single, flexible and eager to work. I am a fast learner and a "cheap trainee" with no desire to own a company. At this juncture of my life, my decision is to be employed by a company where my skills, knowledge and life experience can be maximized to their full potential while obtaining personal satisfaction and stimulation from my position.
